On the afternoon of November 4, Dr. Shen Dai, President of French Brest Business School, and Ms. Hawa NIAKATE, Director of International Development of Eduservices (French Higher Education Services Group), visited Donghai College. President He Ying met with the French guests and chaired the discussion, with Meng Zhaoshang, Director of International Exchange Office.
He Ying firstly expressed his warm welcome to the visit of President Shen Dai and Director Hawa NIAKATE, and gave a comprehensive introduction of the history of Donghai College, its profile and major achievements over the 32 years of its foundation. In recent years, it has undertaken the task of building teacher training bases for private colleges and universities, actively served the construction of regional science and technology innovation centers, won the National Vocational Education Teaching Achievement Award for many times, and built a number of national and provincial high-quality courses. In the recently concluded World Vocational College Skills Competition 2024, Donghai College won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals, and its overall ranking is in the forefront of similar institutions in Shanghai. He hoped that by adhering to the concepts of application-oriented, informatization and internationalization, Donghai College would seek a more in-depth and comprehensive cooperation and exchanges with the French side in the field of education and talent cultivation.
President Shen Dai thanked President He for the meeting and briefly introduced the school. Brest Business School, adhering to the elite education model, is a major member of the Alliance of French Elite Universities with 62 years of school history. It has master and undergraduate majors in international business, logistics management and procurement, asset management and finance, risk control and performance management, e-commerce and marketing. There are nearly 1,000 French students, 75% of whom are international students, and more than 10,000 domestic students. It can cooperate with domestic institutions in the introduction of courses, and Associate to Bachelor’s to Master’s degree program, and students have the opportunity to go to France to study in the mode of apprenticeship.
Director Hawa NIAKATE introduced the Eduservices (French Higher Education Services Group). Eduservices, founded in 2010, headquartered in Paris, France, is the largest higher education group in France, with campuses in 42 cities in France, providing 39,000 students annually with higher education services ranging from pre-university to undergraduate and master’s degree programs, with courses covering many fields such as business, administration, communication, tourism, etc., and providing students with internships, employment or study tours. The flight attendant program, in cooperation with China Eastern Airlines, is one of the best in France.
President He Ying thanked the guests for their introductions and proposed that all parties could cooperate through students’ upgrading to bachelor’s and master’s degrees, teachers’ doctoral degree programs, and mutual establishment of campuses. President Shen Dai and Director Hawa Niakate responded positively.
After the meeting, the French guests, accompanied by President He, paid a visit to teaching and learning environments in Donghai College. First, e-commerce live room and logistics training room of the School of Economics and Management. Second, the A320 dynamic simulation cabin training room, the hatch training room, the static simulation cabin training room, and the airport check-in and check-out training room of the School of Aviation. Third, the computerized numerical control, electromechanical, and industrial robotics training room, and the large automobile workshop of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Fourth, the simulated geriatric training room, simulated baby shower room, nurses’ station and simulated ward training room, and immersive wisdom teaching center of the School of Nursing. Fifth, smart classrooms, clothing training room of the art school. Sixth, the metaverse industrial school, metaverse 3D creation studio, and industry-academia cooperation places of the school of media. Donghai College’s strength and talent cultivation mode were highly evaluated, and more in-depth cooperation would be conducted.
