On April 15, 2025, the unveiling ceremony for the first overseas “Donghai Workshop”, initiated by Shanghai Donghai College, was held at Woosuk University in South Korea.

Jointly established by Shanghai Donghai College and the Shanghai Technician Association, “Donghai Workshop” aims to respond to the local economic and industrial development needs by offering various professional training programs. It seeks to share China’s high-quality vocational education resources and pedagogical models, cultivating localized technical and skilled talents who not only possess international perspectives and understand global standards but also have creative thinking and robust practical capabilities. The inaugural program, Chinese cuisine (Shanghai-style pastries), features courses and practical training taught by national-level culinary masters, who will deliver professional culinary training and hands-on instruction, alongside Shanghai Donghai College’s distinguished faculty teaching management and marketing courses. Through both online and offline formats, the workshop aims to train high-level, multifaceted chefs specializing in Chinese pastry arts for the host country. Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive certificates issued by Shanghai Donghai College and the Shanghai Technician Association. Equipped with expertise, they will be qualified to serve as faculty in the country’s higher education institutions in hotel management, food service, and related fields. Additionally, graduated will gain entrepreneurial skills, allowing them to launch their own businesses and showcase the cultural allure of Chinese cuisine, becoming highly sought-after professionals in their home countries’ culinary industries.
