On October 22, Shanghai Donghai College (SDC) hosted a delegation led by Koji Furuya, Chairman of Yamanashi Gakuin International Education Group. The delegation included Dr. Zhang Hua, Vice President of Yamanashi Gakuin University. SDC’s President He Ying met the delegation for talks, which were chaired by Meng Zhaoshang, Director of SDC International Exchange Office.
President He extended a warm welcome, noted the two institutions’ existing cooperation in international high school education and expressed hope to extend this collaboration to the university level. She briefly highlighted SDC’s 32-year history, emphasizing its focus on application-oriented and internationalized education as a leading private vocational college.
Mr. Furuya thanked SDC for its hospitality and praised its efforts in international education. He underscored Yamanashi Gakuin University’s strengths: it pioneered Chinese-language teaching in Japan, leads in international high school education and provides strong support for international students in employment and daily life.
Witnessed by all attendees, President He and Mr. Furuya signed the cooperation agreement and exchanged souvenirs. Later, the Japanese delegation visited SDC’s training facilities for aviation, mechanical and electrical, and education colleges, as well as the international high school program site. They spoke highly of the college’s training equipment and campus atmosphere.
Founded in 1962 in Kofu City, Japan, Yamanashi Gakuin University is a renowned international private university with five undergraduate colleges and one graduate school. It offers Sino-Japanese bilingual courses, and its academic credentials are recognized by China’s Ministry of Education.
This cooperation serves as a key step in resource integration and sets an example for the internationalization of private vocational education. Going forward, the two institutions will deepen collaboration to nurture high-quality technical talents with global perspectives.
