Grand Closing Ceremony Held for YES Program

On the afternoon of November 14th, the closing ceremony of “YES Program: French Aviation Faculty and Students Attend Specialized Studies at Shanghai Donghai College(SDC)”—was grandly held in Conference Room B303 of Jiangxingyuan Building.

Leaders, guests, and program consultants in attendance included Lin Chenxu (Vice President of Shanghai Zhonghua Vocational School), Liu Hong (Master Chinese Chef and former Executive Chef of Hengshan Moller Villa Hotel), NIAKATE Hawa (Director of International Affairs at L’École Internationale Tunon), Liu Yanlin (China Development Director of France’s Eduservices Education Group), LABAT Jérémie (Campus Director of Win Sports School at Tunon), and Cui Han (International Exchange Office of Taizhou University, Jiangsu). Representing SDC were Zhang Juyang (Assistant President and Director of Academic Affairs Office), Yang Jing (Deputy Director of Publicity Department), Zhou Menghua (Dean of School of Aviation), Zhang Min (Deputy Dean of School of Aviation), and Liu Yichen (Foreign Affairs Secretary of International Exchange Office). Over 50 participants joined, including all YES Program students, SDC student volunteer representatives, and students from Tunon’s “Splendid Jiangsu” program (tourism and flight attendant major). The ceremony was hosted by Meng Zhaoshang (Director of SDC’s International Exchange Office).

In her speech, NIAKATE Hawa highly praised the YES Program documentary played at the ceremony, thanked the program team for their dedicated companionship, and expressed delight at the successful cooperation between SDC and Tunon. She noted that French students had transitioned from hesitation to courage in joining the program, and though some faced initial adaptation challenges, the program fully met expectations.

On behalf of the YES Program consultant team, Lin Chenxu commended the program as a brilliant brand for SDC to respond to President Xi’s call and deepen friendship and professional exchanges with French and European youth. He emphasized the high alignment between Shanghai Zhonghua Vocational School and SDC in school-running philosophy, vocational education mission, and talent training model, expressing confidence in future international cooperation potential. The school will continue supporting SDC in expanding international exchanges and building high-quality programs.

Zhang Juyang thanked guests for their recognition of the YES Program, describing it as a new attempt in SDC’s Sino-foreign cooperation and international education. He attributed the program’s success in achieving all set goals to high-quality resources from partners like France’s Brest Business School and Tunon, the strong program operation team, the selfless dedication of Chinese and French group leaders (both surnamed Liu), and the enthusiastic participation of student volunteers. He stated that the successful Sino-French collaboration would inject new momentum into the school’s international exchanges, and wished the French faculty and students a smooth journey home and lasting Sino-French friendship.

Subsequently, leaders and guests presented graduation certificates (signed by SDC’s President He Ying) to each YES Program student, while Zhang Juyang and Hawa awarded certificates to outstanding volunteers. All participants took a group photo in front of the library.

Prior to the ceremony, YES Program students conducted research exchanges through group assignments, with comments from judges including Ge Xuyan, Lu Weilun, and Ji Kun. Students from the “Splendid Jiangsu” program attended the “Cabin Service and Emergency Response” course (taught by Liu Peiyu and Jin Yibin) in the A320 dynamic training cabin of SDC’s School of Aviation, and visited teaching and training facilities of various colleges accompanied by Meng Zhaoshang and others.

After the ceremony, the French delegation watched a drone performance by SDC’s Media College with great interest, accompanied by Zhang Juyang, Zuo Tiantian (Dean of School of Media), and Hu Xue (Party Secretary of Media College). (Translator: Liu Yichen)
