Recently, three vocational standards of Shanghai Donghai College (SDC), including “Generative AI System Application Technician”, have been officially certified in writing by the National Center for Vocational Training and Education of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria. This is another landmark achievement of SDC in advancing the internationalization of vocational education and showcasing the achievements of Chinese vocational education to the world, and it is also the first international vocational standard commissioned, formulated and approved by Algeria, highlighting the construction quality of SDC’s advantageous and characteristic majors and its pioneering status in international vocational education.
The three vocational standards were proposed by the School of Media, the School of Information Engineering, and the School of Aviation respectively. The vocational definition of “Generative AI System Application Technician” denotes a professional specializing in the development and application of generative artificial intelligence technology, and is responsible for designing and implementing models capable of automatically generate text, images, audio and video content. The technician must hold a solid academic background in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, be proficient in the principles of deep learning and neural networks, and be able to apply this expertise to build, train, and optimize complex models. Additionally, the technician is required to command proficiency in data preprocessing, analysis, model selection, and evaluation, possess a thorough grasp of image generation technology, including the core principles and practical applications of models such as Stable Diffusion, to enable the effective application of language models. Furthermore, the technician should be capable of using, optimizing, and deploying large-scale models, as well as designing and developing knowledge base-driven question-answering systems.
The vocational definition of “Information System Operation and Maintenance Engineering Technician” refers to a professional who undertakes the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of information systems, covering computer hardware, operating systems, application software, storage and backup, and network connections. The technician must demonstrate excellent learning, analytical, judgmental, and problem-solving capabilities, along with certain communication and teamwork skills.
The vocational definition of “Air Transport Ground Service Technician” denotes a professional who provides transportation services for passengers, luggage, cargo, and mail at airport grounds or within ground facilities. The technician is required to have certain learning, calculation, and communication skills, as well as strong observation, analysis, and judgment abilities, alongside spatial awareness and body awareness.
At the request of the Algerian side, SDC will launch the export and development of the aforementioned vocational standards in the next phase. The International Exchange Office will assist the relevant schools in selecting professional faculty membersto conduct overseas training in accordance with the established professional training programs, core courses, teaching materials, and courseware (Correspondent: Liu Yichen)
