ITE Singapore Study Tour Program at SDC Concludes Successfully
At 13:30 on June 22, 2026, the closing ceremony of the ITE Singapore Study Tour Program at Shanghai Donghai College (SDC) was held in Conference Room B303, Jiangxingyuan Building. Zhang Juyang, Assistant to the President and Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Meng Zhaoshang, Director of the International Exchange Office, Yue Baohua, Director of the Student Affairs Department, Ji Chunlei, Dean of the School of Information Engineering, Huang Yanmei, Director of the General Office of the School of Media and Communication, attended the ceremony. Also present were Liu Yichen of the International Exchange Office, and student volunteer representatives. The ceremony was presided over by Meng Zhaoshang, Director of the International Exchange Office.
The ceremony opened with a briefing by Meng Zhaoshang on the overall progress of the program. All attendees watched a documentary video reviewing the full ten-day itinerary of specialized courses, enterprise visits and cultural immersion activities. He extended a sincere welcome to the Singaporean faculty and students for their exchange visit to SDC, and expressed heartfelt thanks to the course instructors, staff and student volunteers who had supported the smooth implementation of the program throughout.
Following this, Low Hua Chong, leading faculty member of the ITE Singapore delegation, delivered a speech. On behalf of all participating faculty and students, he expressed sincere gratitude to SDC for the meticulous itinerary arrangements and thoughtful reception support. He noted that the program had provided a valuable platform for students to gain first-hand insight into the features of China’s vocational education and experience fine traditional Chinese culture, leaving all participants with rich and rewarding outcomes. He expressed the hope that the two institutions would continue to deepen friendly exchanges and advance long-term cooperation in a substantive manner.
In the concluding address, Zhang Juyang, Assistant to the President and Director of the Academic Affairs Office, extended warm congratulations on behalf of SDC to all Singaporean students on their successful completion of the program. He emphasized that this study tour represents an important initiative for mutual learning and in-depth practical cooperation in vocational education between China and Singapore. Noting the highly aligned educational philosophies of the two institutions and the increasingly mature two-way study tour mechanism, he announced that SDC would send its second cohort of students to Singapore for exchange studies this September. He encouraged all participants to take this study tour as a bond, serve as youth envoys of China-Singapore friendship and keep the flame of exchange alive, wishing the vocational education cooperation between the two institutions steady, far-reaching progress and continued fruitful results.
After the speeches, a certificate presentation ceremony was held. Attending leaders presented study tour completion certificates to each Singaporean participant, recognizing their diligent learning attitude and active engagement in exchanges. Volunteer service certificates were then awarded to student volunteers of SDC in recognition of their enthusiastic dedication and strong sense of responsibility throughout the program. Following the presentation, all attendees gathered for a group photo, marking the successful conclusion of the closing ceremony.
The successful delivery of the ITE Singapore Study Tour Program has further consolidated the foundation of friendly cooperation between the two institutions, built a bridge for mutual learning and friendship between young people of the two countries, and effectively broadened students’ international horizons while enhancing their intercultural communication competence. Going forward, SDC will remain committed to its educational philosophy of application orientation, industry alignment and internationalization, deepen exchanges and cooperation in international vocational education, improve the long-term mechanism of two-way study tours and exchanges, and steadily advance the high-quality development of SDC’s international education initiatives.
